66 people fined for smoking at public places in Budgam District


SRINAGAR, Dec 31 : The district administration in Badgam district has fined 66 people for smoking at public places.

 Officials said here today that a massive anti-smoking drive was launched in Budgam, Chadoora, Magam, Beerwah, Khansahib and Chrar-i-Sharief by a team of officials.
They said the Squad visited public offices, hotels and restaurants, bus stands, hospitals, schools.
A total of 66 people were found violating the law and smoking at public places.
Rs 5910 were recovered as challan from offenders, they added.
The administration has decided to declare entire Badgam district as smoke-free zone from February 2012.
