7-day training programme of ASHA Workers on HBNC
SRINAGAR, Dec 27: The 7-day training programme of ASHA Facilitators on Home Based New Born Care (HBNC) ASHA Module 6&7 which held at RIHHW Dhobiwan, Tangmarg concluded here today. . . .
The training was organized by the J&K State Rural Health Mission and 120 participants from Kashmir division were imparted training for proper care of new born, maternal care during the weeklong event by the expert resource persons of departments of Health & Family Welfare.
The training covered several pre-cautionary measures to be taken by the ASHAs and other workers to save the new born and mothers. They were fully acquainted with the responsibilities as facilitator to monitor the use of funds under NRHM in the respective areas, involvement of VHSC members, and functionality of ASHAs. The communication and capacity building skills of ASHA facilitators have also been enhanced during the training.
The training was imparted by Sadiq Khan, Shahida Yaqoob, Rehana Rashid and Masooda, State Trainers of HBNC ASHA module 6&7. The training programme was supported and supervised by Mission Director NRHM, J&K Dr. Yashpal Sharma and Director Health Services Kashmir Dr .Saleem- ur- Rehman.
On the concluding day, the valedictory function was chaired by Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Divisional Nodal Officer, NRHM Kashmir. He congratulated the trainers and the trainees for successful completion of the training programme and stressed upon the ASHA facilitators to work with zeal and dedication and bring revolutionary changes at the gross root level in the health set up especially at the village level.
