Awantipora, Dec 27: The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) Awantipur, Kashmir is going to participate in five day North-Zone Inter University Basketball Championship scheduled to be held at M.J.P Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (U.P) from  January 3, 2012.

The IUST is the first and only university from Kashmir region to   participate in the event which would witness participation from the universities across the India.

The university team would visit the venue under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. A. Tarzan, Director Physical Education & Sports of the varsity.

The team members include, Naveed Zahoor, Ihtisham Bashir, Aabid Nisar, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Tabeen Rizwan Shah, Babar Gowhar, Omer Niyaz, Mustanser Hussain Khan, Asrar Farooqi, Ahrar Mushtaq. The players will be assisted by Mr. Majid Nazir Mukhdoomi (Coach) and Mr. Altaf Hussain Shah (Manager).
