SRINAGAR, Dec 30: With an object of speedy disposal of pending cases by Alternate Dispute Resolution Mechanism, a Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex, Srinagar under the supervision of Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Srinagar, Kaneez Fatima.

About 400 cases of different nature were taken up before seven benches. Out of these, 102 cases were amicably settled through Mediation and Conciliation before the aforesaid benches of Lok Adalat.
An amount of Rs. 29, 35,000/- was awarded as compensation in favour of claimants in MACT cases and Rs. 46,000/- was recovered as fine in different petty and compounded criminal matters.
