CISF killed a young man for protesting against Power Curtailment

BARAMULLA, 02 Jan : A young man namely Altaf Ahmad Sood was killed and two others were injured when Central Industrial Security Forces opened fire on unarmed protestors at Boniyar baramulla. They was protesting against the power curtailments in the valley.

Police reports, " Mob tried to force their entry into the Office of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC). CISF personnel guarding the complex allegedly opened fire"

Family reports,  "He ws not protesting, he ws returning from Nowshehra Srinagar from tuitions to his residence but the road was blocked so he was there, CISF troopers fired upon unarmed protestors without any provocation in which our son was also caught".

Police arrested 5 CISF troopers namely Sub-Inspector Krishan Thapa, Havaldar Dwarka Prasad, Constable Raju Ranjan, Constable Ajay Singh & Constable Mohd Shabir under the murder case.

Local MLA Taj Mohidin,MoS for Home Nasir Aslam Wani, DGP Kuldeep Khoda & IG S M Sahai visited the incident place to assess the situation.

APHC Leader Syed Ali Shah Feelani termed the incident as "State-Terrorism"

Jammu and Kashmir government lodged a strong protest with the Union Home Ministry over the killing of a man in firing during protests over power shortage in Boniyar area of Baramulla district
