19193 vacant posts referred to SSB, PSC: Govt
JAMMU, Feb 29: The government Wednesday disclosed that 19193 vacant posts are lying with SSB and PSC and these are yet to be filled.
In the written reply to a query raised by CPI (M) legislator Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, the government stated that JKPSC made 1990 selection and recruitments in 2010 and 1472 selections/recruitments in 2011. “JKSSB made 4855 selections including 1786 selections of migrant Kashmiri Pandits in 2010. SSB also made 3267 selections/recruitments in 2011. About 11584 persons have been recruited /selected by SSB and PSC during last two years,” it said.
The government further stated that 510 posts and vacancies are pending selection with PSC and 19193 vacancies are pending selection/recruitment with SSB. At least 19,703 posts are lying with these recruiting agencies and these are yet to be filled.
Besides, the government also made it clear that SSB in its selection process is considering the academic merit on pro-rata basis and in some cases weightage to the academic qualification is given across the board. In some cases weightage to qualification is given across the board, depending upon the nature of the post, candidates applying for the post and academic degrees.
Besides, the government further said out of 100 points, 80 points are earmarked for academic weightage determined on pro-rata basis and only 20 points are earmarked for interview/viva-voce to assess the attitude, knowledge of the subject, personality and intelligence quotient (IQ), which is invariably conducted by three to five members of the District/Divisional or State level committee as the case may be.
“All the members of the committee award marks on pro-rata basis. Therefore, the system in vogue is quiet fair, transparent, and also stood the judicial scrutiny”, the government added.
Tarigami had sought details of recruitments made by SSB and PSC during last two years and the pendencies , if any, with these recruiting agencies with the reasons thereof.
