Car Lifting gang busted in Kulgam
KULGAM; Feb 29: Police has busted a major car-lifting gang in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district and recovered 47 vehicles.
A police spokesman in a statement said that Kulgam police arrested Amir Khan son of Zakir resident of Sidhra Jammu on February 25 and recovered a stolen bike from his possession.
A case FIR No. 25/2012 U/S 379,411 RPC was registered in Police Station Kulgam.
“During his questioning, he revealed that he was involved in stealing of vehicles from Jammu and selling them in the valley. On his instances, Kulgam police arrested four members of his gang and recovered 16 stolen vehicles from them,” the statement said.
Police arrested Abdul Rashid Dar of Turktachloo Qaimoh, Shabir Ahmad Itoo of Hanand Chawalgam, Rayees Ahmad Shah of Chellan Kulgam and Ayoub Bhat of Nasoo, Badragund, Qazigund and recovered 16 stolen vehicles from them.
Besides these recoveries Kulgam police has recovered Two TATA Mobiles, a TATA Sumo, four Santro Cars, five Maruti-800, one TATA Indica, one Eeco and 33 Motorcycles so far.
