7452 IGUs established in Kulgam

KULGAM; Mar 04: Under the Annual Credit Action Plan (CAP) 7452 unemployed persons were provided finance to set up their own Income Generating Units (IGUs) in the south Kashmir district of Kulgam.

Against target of Rs 112.61 crore for the year 2011-12 under Annual Credit Action Plan, an advancement of Rs 80.32 crore has been provided to 7452 beneficiaries in Kulgam for setting up of income generating units upto ending December 2011, officials said.
The District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Farooq Ahmad presided over the meeting of DLRC, Kulgam and took details review of the achievements made under Annual Credit Action Plan yesterday at Kulgam.
The District Lead Bank Officer, G M Dar while highlighting the achievements made under Credit Plan said Rs 53.43 crore was advanced under Agriculture and allied sectors, Rs 19.58 crore under Non Form/ SSI Sector and Rs 7.31 crore under other priority sector for establishment of 5501, 1799 and 1636 Income Generating Units respectively in the district.
He also told that Rs 7 lakh has been provided to 70 beneficiaries under DRI advances, Rs 7832 lakh provide to 723 woman beneficiaries and Rs 6217.24 lakh have been provided to 1112 beneficiaries of weaker section.
The District Development Commissioner Kulgam expressed satisfaction over the performance made under Action Plan which has reached to 71.32 per cent.
He directed the officers to gear up their field staff and have the State and Centrally-sponsored schemes implemented in full. He also directed them to work with more dedication to achieve the targets within the stipulated time.
