12 Yr Kid booked for burning Police Vehicle and beating 3 Policemen
SRINAGAR; 27, Aug 2012: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a 12 year old boy namely Faizan Bashir Sofi son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi resident of Eidgah Srinagar on the charges of burning a vehicle of Indian police and beating of three policeman on 20th August (On Eid Day)
Earlier on Eid, protests broke out in Eidgah area of Srinagar against the illegal detention of Pro-freedom leaders. Protests later turn violent and set fire to a police vehicle and also beat up three Indian policemen.
Faizan is a student of Class 6th and was arrested on Sunday, today he was produced in a local court in Srinagar, where he was sent to jail for further 15 days.
Besides Faizan, three more persons are accused in the case.
According to Indian Police Sources, "The video footage available with them show Faizan beating the policeman.
Police charged him under sections 435, 147 and 149 of Ranbir Penal Code.
“We have moved a bail application but police has not reported back yet,” Faizan's advocate Babar Qadri told reporters.
Meanwhile Online Kashmiri users have launched online agitation against this brutuality by India. Various Facebook Pages, Groups, Petitions have emerged to seek help from Amnesty International and other Human Rights Organisations for the release of Faizan. Some of them are Given below:
