SRINAGAR; 29/08/2012:  More than a dozen panchayat members have announced their resignations over the past week.
Seven sarpanchs have announced resignations in the Rathsoona area, five in Dadsar, and one each in Laam and Sher Bazaar.
Media reports say that the spate of resignations comes in the wake of posters appearing in various localities threatening the sarpanchs with dire consequences in case they failed to give up their posts.
