DDC Srinagar raids hospitals; 3 Doctors, 1 nurse suspended

SRINAGAR; 31, Aug 2012: Three doctors and a nurse were on Friday suspended by the District Development Commissioner,Srinagar after they were found absent from their duties during the night hoursin city hospitals here.

Taking cognizance of the media reports and complaints by the public, DDC, Baseer Ahmad Khan conducted nocturnal raids in major city hospitals including B&J, LD and SMHS during which the staff was either found absent from hospital or violating the duty pattern, sources told. Theysaid the DC was accompanied by the Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar, Dr Dildaar Mir, health and police officials.

“The team also took strong note of the non-availability ofdrugs at the health institutions during night. They were shocked to see that there was no proper duty rosters maintained in the hospitals during night,” sources said.
