Mirwaiz flays Youth over Eid immorality
SRINAGAR; 24, Aug 2012: The chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday lashed out at the Kashmir youth saying "it was shameful and regretful to see them indulging in anti-islam and immoral acts on the day of Eid".
During his Friday sermon, Mirwaiz, who is the chief cleric, said: "Eid does not mean going to picnic, but it’s the day of seeking blessing and asking for forgiveness from Allah."
He said instead of expressing mutual brotherhood and harmony within the community, the youth were "indulging in bad things which were against the teaching of Islam".
He also advised parents to give good teachings and bring up their children within the influence of Islam.
