Mirwaiz umer asks world to help trace missing persons

SRINAGAR: 30/Aug/2012: All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has appealed to the world community to play its role in finding out where abouts of thousands of innocent Kashmiris, gone missing in the custody of Indian troops. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar on the occasion of the International Day of the Disappeared, today, said that the world was observing the Day but in theo ccupied territory families of the disappeared persons were waiting for their near and dear ones. He said that so far more than 10,000 Kashmiris had been subjected disappearance. The APHC Chairman said that the disclosure of massive unnamed graves was ample proof of the authorities’ heinous crimes. He added that hundreds of innocent people of Kashmir had been languishing in the jails of India and the occupied territory without fundamental amenities and the international human rights organisations and the world community should take notice of it. Mirwaiz urged India to repeal all the black laws, which give unbridled powers to Indian troops to commit gross human rights violations in the occupied territory with impunity. He emphasized that withdrawal of the troops was a prerequisite to improve the rights situation in Kashmir.
