SHOPIAN; 23, Aug 2012: Protests erupted in Shopian town early morning against the Outsiders (biharis). Yesterday a Bihari namely Akeel tried to molest a teenager girl in Pinjoora following which youths beated several biharis at various places.
Police have arrested the accused bihari but according to people last night Indian amry beated several kashmiris after they was coming out from masjid after offering Isha prayers.
Today morning youths staged a protest. Various stone-pelting reports were also recieved from Gol Chowk, Main Bazar, Old Bus Stand, Sumo Stand, New Bus Stand and outside DC Office Shopian.
Traders federation Shopian also called Deputy Commissioner of Shopian to intervene in the matter and also demand complete removal of outsiders from Shopian District.
Later on various Shops and rooms were evacuvated, which was taken by Biharis.
