KUPWARA; 05, Sep 2012: An Indian trooper was killed and a mujahid was martyred as firing were exchanged near Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district between Indian troopers and mujahideens, a defence spokesman said here today.
 "An infiltration bid was foiled in Tangdhar sector last night. One mujahid was killed while another managed to flee back across the LoC in an injured condition," Defence spokesman Lt Colonel J S Brar said. He said an Indian trooper was also killed in the gunbattle with the infiltrators. Lt Col Brar said this was the second infiltration bid in Kashmir Valley in last three days. Indian Army on Sunday foiled a bid by muajahideens to sneak into the Valley from Uri sector of Baramulla district but there were no reports of any casualty in the operation.
