BARAMULLA; 03, Sep 2012: 10th class student of Baramulla Public School namely Tanveer Singh (16) resident of Sangri Colony Bla Baramulla, who jumped from school building on 25th August, after he failed in Golden test, succumbed today.
Parents blamed that their son was pushed from the School Building by the Mathematics teacher of the School namely Altaf Hussian.
Police has arrested the teacher.
However, Jaipal Singh, a physical education teacher, in the school and eyewitness to the case, differed with the parent's account. He said: “I was in the ground and the boy was on verandah of the first floor of the school building. He was looking down, when I saw him. And suddenly he jumped on the concrete floor below. Nobody pushed him.”
Principal of the school Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad said: “Is it possible that a teacher would push his student from a building? The teacher they are blaming is an experienced and matured person. Besides, he is also a disciplinarian.”

He said: “He was a regular student upto Class-9, but as his performance over the years continued to worsen, we could not promote him to Class-10.  However, after his parents insisted repeatedly, he was allowed to attend the class on humanitarian grounds.”

“From the very beginning of the session we had advised his parents to take special care of him. I can't say about the mental state of the boy when he jumped,” the principal added.
