SRINAGAR; 07, Sep 2012: The Jammu and Kashmir Jamaat-e-Islami Friday condemned the incident of alleged desecration of Holy Quran in a Masjid at Qaziabad Handwara has appealed the Islamic scholars and intelligentsia to frame a strategy for defusing the designs of certain nefarious elements.
It was the 4th incident of such kind during past 4 months in valley. Earlier miscreants desecrated copies of holy Quran ib Bandipora and Gund-Hassan bhat.
“They must come forward united and chart out a programme for providing real teachings of Islam to the people and weed out those elements who are supporting apostasy by deceitful means,” said the Jamaat-e-Islami spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali said in a statement here.
Accusing the administration of showing deliberate indifference toward criticality of the issue, he said they need to be awakened by expression of strong displeasure.
“The desecration of Holy Quran and the Masjids can be committed either by those persons who are against the spreading of the light and true guidance of the Quran or by a person suffering from acute insanity,” the spokesperson said.
“Unless and until Muslim youth are provided the real teachings of the tenets of Islam in accordance with the Quran and made aware of the practices of the unanimous Sunnah, the apprehension of their being swayed away by any deviation resulting in their spiritual death cannot be ruled out,” he added.
