SRINAGAR; 08, Sep 2012: The Enforcement Squad of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Kashmir today conducted market checking of Old Barzulla, K.P. Bagh, Rangreth, Rambagh, Solina, Sempora, Rawalpora, Parimpora, Lal Bazar, Qamerwari, Bota Kadal, Pakhribal of Srinagar city.

During the market checking, the squad inspected 85 business establishments and an amount of Rs. 25,000/- has been recovered as fine from 11 violators for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. Besides, two illegal gas counters has been sealed as well as one FIR has been lodged against illegal gas counter shopkeeper.
