Mughal Road Closed For Traffic After Snowfall
SHOPIAN; 24, Oct 2012: Mughal road, the alternate route to Kashmir Valley on Tuesday was closed for traffic for the indefinite period following a snowfall on the highway at Pir Ke Gali area.
“The snow fall took place on the highway due to which the highway was closed as a precautionary measure to avoid any unwanted incident,” an official told.
Suggesting people should avoid travelling on Mughal road under the inclement weather conditions, the officials said.
“We have sent teams to the area but there was no report of any untoward incident. We have also talked to the traffic officials in Shopian and they were requested not to allow vehicles from their side,” the official said.
The official also confirmed to KMR News that Pir Ke Gali has witnessed over one feet of snowfall.
