Author of 'Curfewed Nights' Stopped at Srinagar Airport
SRINAGAR; 22, April 2013: Curfewed Nights author Basharat Peer was stopped at Srinagar airport by police on Monday. He was on his way home from Delhi and was soon asked by airport police not to move out.
“I am here for almost half an hour as a co-passenger is telling me that he will make a complaint against me,” Peer told. “He is accusing me of misbehavior which is grossly incorrect.”
The co-passenger was identified as P S Sandhu, a senior BSF officer who was also flying to Srinagar in the same aircraft. No more details were immediately available. IGP Kashmir A G Mir said he will look into the reports.
