KULGAM; 20, April 2013: Police arrested a Hizbul Mujahidin rebel at Khudwani, Kulgam. A police statement claimed on Saturday.

The statement added that on a specific information regarding a suspicious movement of one Molvi Yassir Hussain Bhat son of Shams Din Bhat resident of Kralpora Saroor Kishtwar, a team headed by Dy. SP Sangam, Islamabad apprehend the said individual.

Police said that after sustained questioning the individual confessed of having information regarding presence of Imitiyaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Shirpora Islamabad, a Hizbul Mujahidin outfit rebel of “C” Category around Khudwani  Kulgam. Police said that on his disclosure the police party launched a search operation at Tachloo  Kulgam  and apprehended Imitiyaz  Ahmad Bhat after a chase and arrested him along with one Pistol ,one Magazine, eight rounds and two Chinese Grenades.

Police said that a case FIR number 87/2013 stands registered in police station Islamabad  and investigation is set into motion.
