Hurriyat (G) demands release of political prisoners
SRINAGAR; 23, April 2013: Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Tues day saluted the courage, resolve and steadfastness of the pro-freedom leaders serving detention in different jails, saying the people would never forget their sacrifices. while strongly criticising the continues detention of Masarat Alam, Mohamad Yusuf Falahi,Mir Hafez ulah, Bashir Ahmad Qureshi,Nasir Abdullah,Shakir Ahmad Wani and profreedom leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq ul Islam,Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and Zubair Ahmad Turray, Syed Ali Geelani said that the detainees are being subjected to political reprisal and harassment and there is no moral or legal justification for their continues detention. Tuesday Syed Ali Geelani while saluting the steadfastness of Dr M Qasim,Dr M Shafi sharyeti,Gh Qadir Bhat,Mohamad Ayoob Dar,Mohammad Ayoob Mir, Mohammad Syed (Islam Abad),Fayaz Ahmad Pir(Shopping) and Nazi Ahmad (Batmaloo)added that all these detainees are political prisoners and their trail under criminal law is sheer violation of international manifesto.
Hailing the international bodies and Amenity International for their remarks, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his satisfaction and added that these bodies have declared the implementation of PSA as lawlessness. In his appeal to international bodies Syed Ali Geelani stressed to impress India to repeal the said black law as such laws are not permissible in any conflicted zone of world. India is violating the norms with regards to these detainees and citing the precedence, Syed Ali Geelani added that Its party leaders Mir Hafiz Ullah and Mohammad Yusuf Fallahi were released by the court but despite court orders for their release rearrested, detained and shifted Mir Hafez Ullah to Hiranagar while as Mohammad Yusuf Fallhi is detained in Zanipora Shopian police station. Bashir Ahmad Qureshi has been lodged in Sub Jail Baramulah under prevention act 107/151.Syed Ali Geelani expressed his concern over the deteriorating health condition of Shakeel Ahmad Bhat (Fateh Kadal) and said though he is in jail since 2008 but no proper treatment is provided to him. While warning the administration Syed Ali Geelani said that they are playing a dangerous game while not allowing political space to profreedom political activists. Strongly criticising National Conference, Syed Ali Geelani added that its leaders have always resorted to undemocratic policies and never tolerated profreedom political parties. Whenever they were in power they have subjected their political opponents to worst kind of subjugation and vengeance added Syed Ali Geelani. Syed Ali Geelani in his statement castigated state police and added that though prime duty of police is to protect life and honour of citizens ,it has rendered its service for power mongers and ruling parties and are perpetrating atrocities on people. .Reiterating his stand Syed Ali Geelani pledged to strive till the logical end and added that the suppression and repressive measures won’t deter us from our mission .In his appeal to Amnesty International and world bodies, Syed Ali Geelani urged to take note of the sufferings of Kashmiri people and impress India to honour political aspiration of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
