SRINAGAR; 22, April 2013: A Graffti saying “Go India Go Back” appeared on the Historical Hari Parbat Fort of Srinagar today morning. The hill top where the fort is located which is also called ‘Koh-e-Maran’ is one the oldest forts in , being occupied by the Indian CRPF since the insurgency broke in the valley and can be seen from the city outskirts.
Earlier many such incidents were witnessed in which Mysterious youth had posted ‘Anti India’ Graffiti in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir but this is the first time when an Anti-India Graffiti has appeared on any such Historical monument.
Anti-Indian and Pro-Independence Graffiti’s are no alien to Kashmir but this mysterious Graffiti has made every one curious about who and how one did it as the fort is guarded by the CRPF personals. The Photograph of the Graffiti has gone viral on the social media.
In addition to the “Go India Go Back” Graffiti, a flag of and Saudi Arabia was also affixed on the wall of the Fort, which according to the reports were later removed by the authorities.
Though senior police officers refused to officially comment over the issue but one of the senior officer said on the condition of anonymity that agitated youth could have drawn the graffiti. “But we’re right now clueless over the issue”. According to the reports, the Graffiti has been done during the last night.
Pertinently Last month, after the hanging of Shaheed Afzal Guru, many such Graffiti’s appeared in the city Center Lal Chock which said ‘Welcome Taliban’ and ‘free Kashmir’. The Police then had started a hunt for those who had done that Graffiti but till now no arrests were carried out.
