300-tonne cement plant set to be completed by July

SAMBA; 15, May 2013: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has said the 300-tonne cement plant in Samba district will be completed by July this year.

The plant will be completed by July this year, the State’s Minister for Industries and Commerce Sajad Ahmed Kichloo said. He inspected the progress on the Rs 27-crore clinker grinding-cum-packing cement unit at Samba being installed by the State-owned Jammu and Kashmir Cements Ltd (JKCL).

The Minister enjoined upon the General Manager Atul Sharma and Plant Engineer of JKCL to complete the project by July.

He expressed satisfaction over the progress on the project besides appreciating the quality work undertaken by JKCL.

The Minister took stock of the progress achieved, so far, in installation of the project and visited all sections of the plant.

The Managing Director, JKCL, R. K. Razdan, informed the Minister that the plant would produce 300 tonnes of cement per day and would meet the requirement of Government departments as well as the private market in Jammu province.
