Acid Attack on girl in Pattan: Main accused arrested

BARAMULLA; 11, May 2013: Out of three accused allegedly involved in the acid attack on a local girl in North Kashmir’s Pattan town, police apprehended the main culprit Amin Ramzan Mir on Saturday.

 
Pertinently, three persons Nazir Ahmed Mir, Amin Ramzan Mir and Mohammad Akbar Mir on late Friday night had threw acid-like liquid on a girl after the two families in the area of Kripalpora, Payeen Pattan had a brawl over a land dispute.
 
“We are waiting for the report of the doctors whether the accused used acid or some kind of other liquid. The girl has been discharged from the hospital and she is safe,” Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Pattan Syed Fayaz Ahmed told CNS adding that they have already arrested the main accused while the two are still absconding.
