Geelani not to attend Birmingham Conference
SRINAGAR; 25, May 2013: The Veteran Hurriyat Leader and Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani who has been invited to participate in a Kashmir related international conference on 27th May to be held in Birmingham will not attend the conference as the Indian Government has not cleared his passport.
“Government as usual has not issued the necessary travel documents so how can I attend that conference,” S.A.Geelani told adding that how can this government allow me to attend an international Conference when it does not allow me to venture out from my house.
Pertinently, the dignitaries affiliated to NGO’s, distinguished political leaders and ambassadors from different countries are schedule to attend Birmingham conference.
Syed Ali Geelani had accepted the invitation and had showed his willingness to attend the said summit.
