Gulmarg police recovers stolen jewellery and cash
BARAMULLA: 24, May 2013: Gulmarg Police recovered the cash and stolen valuables of the tourists from the accused at Pattan.
A tourist Sanjay Manohar son of Manohar Patil resident of Nasik Maharashtra who was staying in Hotel Heewan Resort Gulmarg reported in Police station Gulmarg that during the intervening night of 20/21, May cash of Rs. 5000/- and golden Jewellery worth Rs. 1,72,000/- were stolen.
Gulmarg police registered a case FIR No. 08/2013 under section 457,380 RPC and started the investigation.
With the help of electronic and scientific technique, police managed to zero in to a suspect Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Ahad Sheikh resident of Reshipora. He was arrested from Palhallan Pattan on 22.05.2013.
During his questioning the suspect disclosed that he had stolen ornaments and cash from tourist and on his disclosure Police Gulmarg recovered all the stolen items from him.
The accused was produced before Hon’ble Court and after obtaining court orders the stolen items were handed over to the complainant.
