JKTDC to ink with Sharjah based Travel Company

SRINAGAR; 11, May 2013: In its endeavour to promote Jammu and Kashmir as one of the best golfing and MICE destinations, the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development (JKTDC) will soon ink a pact with Sharjah National Travel & Tourist Agency (SNTTA).


In this regard,, Minister for Tourism GA Mir held a meeting with Chief General Manager SNTTA Sai Rattan to discuss the modalities in Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club.

The meeting was attended by Shamim Ahmad Wani, Managing Director JKTDC, Talat Parvez Director Tourism Kashmir besides Bikas Bakshi and Hardish Pannu.

SNTTA is the largest travel and tourist management company owned by the Royal Family of Sharjah having 39 offices across Middle East.

“An MOU will be signed between JKTDC and SNTTA to appoint it as handling agents in UAE to promote J&K as a golfing destination besides Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions (MICE) and incentive tour pilgrim tourism destination.”

“Simultaneously, the JKTDC will act as destination management consultant for SNTTA in J & K,” Mir said.
“We will formulate tour packages to receive golfers from UAE and other countries. Kashmir has one of the best golf courses and it is high time to market them to attract golfers and tourists,” Mir said.

Meanwhile, Director Sharjah Golf Course Martin Duff also had meeting with GA Mir.

On the occasion, Mir asked the Sharjah Golf Club to hold its annual tournament at RSGC Kashmir.
“Martin Duff agreed in principle to shortly visit Kashmir for recce of Golf courses. Subsequently Golf members Sharjah Club will also visit Kashmir,” Wani said.
