Malik leaves for Chennai to attend conference

SRINAGAR; 17, May 2013: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front fund raising campaign continued for the second day today with the Front chairman Yasin Malik who had to leave for Chennai to attend a conference, appealing people to come forward for helping suffering people of Chenab valley.

“Alhamdulillah in short span of time Rs two lakhh and 65 thousands were collected for the purpose today. After the fund collection Malik left for Chennai where he is scheduled to address a gathering,” a JKLF spokesman said in a statement to KNS.

Malik has been invited by leading Tamil students union for the annual remembrance meeting on 18 May 2013. In their invitation letter the organizers wrote about the suffering of Kashmiris and expressed solidarity with the ‘freedom struggle’ of Kashmir. They have also cited the common agenda of resistance and have invited Malik to represent Kashmiri ‘freedom struggle’ in the program.

Malik is scheduled to address the gathering and will inform the participants about the sufferings and struggle of Kashmiri nation.

Meanwhile, JKLF today organized a protest rally at Palpora Noor Bagh. Under the program of Mutahida Majlis Mashawarat, the protest rally was organized to demand for the return of mortal remains of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Guru and release of prisoners. The protest rally was led by JKLF leaders advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat was attended by Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Mir Siraj ud Din, Mohammad Sideeq Shah and Bashir Kashmiri.
