Rains continue to lash Kashmir

SRINAGAR: 26, May 2013; Meteorologica­l Department Sunday predicted that intermittent rains with occasional thunderstorms will continue to lash Kashmir Valley in next 48 hours. “Intermittent rains are likely to continue in most parts of the Valley due to Western disturbances which are active right now,” Weather Office official told. The Met office predicted that more rain till next 48-hours in view of the continuing disturbances. “The western disturbances are likely to stay till May 27 and it is expected to cause moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places across Kashmir,” a Met official said adding that the weather will start improving from Tuesday onwards. MeT has advised people to exercise caution while travelling on Srinagar-Leh and Srinagar-Jammu highways. (CNS)
