Eid likely to be on Aug 9
KN DESK; 28, July 2013: According to astronomical data collected by Pakistan Meteorological Department, the sighting of the moon is likely to be on August 8, in effect making Eid-ul-Fitr on August 9, reports said.
The skies are expected to be clear on August 8 and the moon is estimated to have a life of 40 hours or more.
If Eid falls on August 9, it would make Ramadan a 29-day month.
The final and official decision on the announcement of Eid will be made by the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, The first fast of the month of Ramadan was observed on Thursday, July 11, 2013.
