Geelani breaks cordon addresses people in Hydepora Mosque
SRINAGAR; 28, July 2013: Policemen deployed outside the residence of Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani were dumbfound when octogenarian leader without following their directions came out from his residence and reached Jamia Masjid Hyderpora to participate in Nazool-i-Quran conference. Though no police official confirmed, however, highly places sources said that all the constables deployed there have been put under suspension.
According to reports, Nazool-i-Quran conference was supposed to be held on Sunday at Hurriyat headquarters located in Hyderpora Sriangar. Police as usual sealed all the roads leading to Hurriyat headquarters and did not allow anyone to proceed towards the residence of Syed Ali Geelani.
“When all our efforts to persuade police failed, we decided to organize the conference at Jamia Masjid Hyderpora. People assembled there and the Conference started one hour late. All the people present in the Masjid were puzzled when Geelani Sahab made his entry into the Masjid,” Hurriyat spokesperson Ayaz Akbar told.
Reports said that no top official was present at the time when Geelani came suddenly out from his residence. Geelani directed his driver to proceed and all the policemen present there could not stop them.
“The policemen told Geelani sahib that they would contact high command but Geelani did not listen to them and left for the Masjid. No policeman dared to touch him,” Akbar said.
Sources said that all those policemen deployed outside the residence of Geelani have been put under suspension. However, no police official confirmed this
Hundreds of people thronged to masjid as soon as they heard that Geelani sahab arrived there. The veteran leader addressed people. The main points of Geelani's speech are:-
(i) We won't allow division of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one from Jammu to Kashmir to Ladakh to Azad Kashmir.
(ii) India hatching conspiracies to divide Jammu and Ladakh from Kashmir.
(iii) India is working on its agenda of massacring Kashmir Muslims on the pattern of 1947 Jammu massacre.
(iv) India is exploiting our natural resources.
(v) Casting vote is against our freedom struggle. We should desist from it.
(vi) 'Don't rent your homes to non-state labourers (Biharis, Bengalis)'
(vii) It is highly shameful for us to send our girls in Army- organised tours and functions.
