SHOPIAN; 20, Aug 2013: Police claimed to have identified two youth allegedly involved in spreading rumors about the desecration of Quran in the town on social networking site facebook. “We have identified both the youth, Ashiq Ahmad Wachkoo and Shakoor Ahmad Wagay who in order to evade their arrest in stone pelting cases tried to disturb the law and order in the town by spreading rumors about desecration of Quran. Both of them have been booked for spreading false rumours,” said SHO Shopian, Irshad Ahmad.

He said that both of them are still absconding to evade the arrest. “We are hopeful of their arrest very soon,” SHO said.

Meanwhile Youth in Shopian are demanding probe by an International group in the case.
