2 Truck Drivers from Shopian attacked in Samba
KN DESK; 13, Aug 2013: In a worrying development, the Kashmiri drivers hailing from South Kashmir have complained of highhandedness at the hands of communal elements in Jammu region especially at Samba.
A LP truck driver bearing number JK03B/8922 , Shakeel Ahmad , belonging to Pinjoora Shopian while talking to a Reporter stated – “ When I reached near Samba while heading to valley the miscreants lobbed petrol bomb into my vehicle causing heavy damages to my vehicle and wounding me as well. I have got four stitches in my head as a result of this .”
Another LP truck Driver bearing number JK22-4084 , Tanveer Ahmad hailing from Tukroo Tengwani Shopian while talking to us said –“My vehicle was stopped near Samba and stones pelted on it causing damage to it and injuring me as well. The rioters also snatched Rupees 13000 from me.”
Pertinently even in 2008 land row Kashmiri drivers bore heavy brunt of the wrath of communal rioters.
