SRINAGAR; 16, Aug 2013: Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) president and MLA Langate Engineer Rashid has accused local district administration in Kishtwar of being biased towards Muslims in the violence hit areas. In a press statement issued today he said “The district administration especially Deputy commissioner is demoralizing Muslims in Kishtwar town and adjoining areas. He is leaving no stone unturned to demoralize them by giving them useless sermons.


The said Deputy Commissioner has a track record of offering his volunteer services in the state to curb genuine voices to please his bosses and is always biased and selective in his approach. It would have been appreciable if the said Deputy Commissioner would have followed his conscience and the law rather trying to please politicians and playing in their hands. It is strange that the district administration did not allow Muslims to offer Friday prayers anywhere in the town though the atmosphere was conducive for the same.
