KN DESK; 06, August 2013: One of the Facebook pages today posted about the detention of the Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is under house-arrest from past 2 years but the resitrictions had been increased from 13th of March 2013. From then this veteran leader is not allowed to perform his religious duties like offering prayers etc during the holy month of Ramdhan.

A Twitter profile and a Facebook page under the name 'Free Geelani and all Detainees in Kashmir' has been launched as a campaign to protest against the continous detention of the octogenarian leader.

Hundreds of Kashmiri pro-freedom pages copied and posted the same status while as #FreeGeelani is trending on micro-blogging site Twitter.

" Omer Abdullah has brought Sikh rule again in #Kashmir by not allowing our leader Geelani sahab to offer prayers in the mosque." tweeted a medical student of GMC, Ishfaq Ahmad.

A female law student from Sopore, Farhana Latief tweeted, "Geelani lives in every youth of Kashmir.. How many will u imprison."

A blogger namely Umar Farooq tweeted, "He has been confined to four walls simply because He is the genuine voice of #Kashmir"
