Hindu groups held protest in New Delhi against Kishtwar voilence
NEW DELHI; 10, Aug 2013: At least 300 activists of Hindu Political parties protested Saturday outside the Jammu and Kashmir House in Chanakyapuri here over the indefinite clashes in Kishtwar town.
As the protest by activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Bajrang Dal turned violent, police used water cannons to disperse them.
"Violent protests were held here by a group of about 300 people. So, the police had to use water cannons to stop them," said a police officer.
He said the situation was under control.
Yesterday, some Hindu extremists attacked muslims in Kishtwar, due to which clashes broke out between the two communities. 2 persons died, 80 others injured and over a 100 shops and other business establishments were torched.
The state government had called Indian army to maintain law and order.
