Omar leaves for Jammu; appeals for Calm
Srinagar; 11, Aug 2013: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has left for Jammu to take stock of prevailing situation in the region. He is likely to hold meeting with citizens to seek their cooperation in maintaining peace.
Omar left soon after addressing a press conference here. He is accompanied by his members of his cabinet including A R rather, A M Sagar, Peerzada Mohammad Saeed, Saifullah Mir, Shabir Ahmad Khan and Aijaz Ahmad Khan.
Earlier while addressing a news conference, he appealed for for maintaining peace and said that situation was under control after the flag march by Army in Jammu and Kishtwar.
"An inquiry ordered by government into the communal clash would bring out facts and guilty would be punished." He added.
He accussed some political parties of trying to exploit the situation for political gains and asked them to desist from doing so.
He admitted that police was outnumbered in Kishtwar on Friday and they could not do much. He justified restrictions on political leaders from visiting Kishtwar saying it would further polarise the situation.
