Taliban reject deployment of fighters to Kashmir
KN DESK; 07, Aug 2013: Taliban warriors group in Afghanistan denied the allegations by Indian officials for deployment of Taliban fighters in Indian occupied Kashmir.
A senior Indian official following the death of five Indian troops said that the Taliban group fighters in cooperation with the Pakistan’s Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) were deployed to Kashmir.
The official quoted by Times of India said that the Taliban rebels are deployed in Jammu and Kashmir to carry out attacks on Indian forces. “The Indian consulate was attacked on Saturday in Jalalabad city.
"Despite we did not have any casualties in the attack, however the concern is that ISI and other insurgent groups have started deployment of Taliban fighters to Jammu and Kashmir for insurgency activities,” the official said.
In the meantime a spokesman for the Taliban group, Zabiullah Mujahid rejecting the reports said neither Taliban group has the ability to deploy fighters outside Afghanistan and nor it is in the foreign policy of the group.
Mujahid quoted by BBC Farsi said, “We are engaged in a major and vast war in our own country and our responsibility is limited within our own territory. It’s been 12 years that our country is occupied and we do not have time to deploy our fighters to other places, specifically in regional countries and India.”
