Curfew continues in Shopian on Day 8; Valley Shuts on 2nd Consecutive Day

SHOPIAN; 15, September 2013: Curfew continues in Shopian today on the eight day after four civilians were killed by 14Bn of CRPF in Gagren area of Shopian. Curfew was lifted on 11th of September however was re-imposed again after one more youth fell prey to the bullets from CRPF troopers.

Curfew also continues for the third consecutive day in Qaimoh, Kulgam, Kakapora and Pulwama town. Meanwhile a complete shutdown was observed in across the valley for second consecutive day today on the call of Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Reports of protests and clashes were received from various parts of the valley including Old town Baramulla, Tawheed Chowk Ganderbal, Darish Kadal, Saraf Kadal, Habba Kadal and Gojwara areas of summer capital and in Gagren, Jamia Road, Kanipora areas of Shopian town.

Clashes was going in some areas till the last reports came.
