Indefinite curfew continues in Shopian on Day 10
SHOPIAN; 17, Sep 2013: Indefinite Curfew continues in Shopian town today on the 10th day, where five civilians were killed by CRPF troopers on Sep 7 and Sep 11.
Government imposed curfew in the area on 8th of September and was lifted on 11th, however one more youth fell prey to the bullets and curfew was re-clamped in the town.
Curfew continued in the town today on the 6th consecutive day. Since the 2nd incident of civilian killing took place.
Thousands of Students, appeared in the Service Selection Board's Exam as DC Shopian Bashir Ahmad Bhat earlier notified that admit cards of such students will be treated as curfew passes.
However armored police vehicles were deployed outside exam centres and candidates were repeatedly urged not to gather outside exam centres.
Minsiter of Law, Mir Saiffullah today visited the curfew-bond Shopian town and hold a meeting with the district administration.
Sagar said, "Curfew will be relaxed in the town on phased manner."
Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Bashir Ahamd Bhat said, "We are assessing the situation however relaxation in the curfew will be decided on evening."
