"One CISF man was shot dead and another wounded critically after suspected rebels fired on them from a point-blank range," said a police spokesman. "The wounded CISF was immediately hospitalized."



Immediately after the attack contingents of police and India's Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men cordoned off the area to track the assailants.

The attack created panic in the area and shopkeepers and pedestrians were seen running away from the spot after the attack.
