SRINAGAR; 28, Sep 2013: Senior resistance leader and Chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah has hailed the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Shareef that Kashmir issue is the flashpoint which should be resolved as per the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Shah hoped India should also respond with political maturity to Mian Nawaz Shareef’s political maturity. He said it now obvious that whenever Pakistan calls for resolving Kashmir issue through peaceful dialogue, the anti-peace elements disrupt peace.

Freedom Party Chairman expressed hope that during the coming meet between Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Shareef and his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh at United Nations, Pakistan PM should press for ending the oppression on Kashmiris and for resolving the long pending issue as per the wishes and aspirations of its people. Shah also applauded the press statement of noted columnist and analyst Prem Shankar Jha by terming his statement as “courageous”. (CNS)
