Shutdown, Protests and Clashes continue in Shopian on Day 18; Section-144 Imposed till Oct 10:
SHOPIAN; 24, Sep 2013: Strike continues in Shopian today on 18th Consecutive day after 5 youth were killed allegedly by 14 Bn of CRPF in Gagren area on 7th and 11th of September.
People are demanding punishment to the killers and removal of CRPF camp and have decided to go on strike until the camp will be removed completely.
Hundreds of youth today again hit the streets and pelted stones on DC office Complex at Tak mohalla, police resorted to teargas shelling triggering clashes. Pitched battles continue in Tak Mohalla and Nakhasi Mohalla areas till late evening.

Meanwhile, According to District Magistrate, Shopian, the General Public is informed that section 144 CrPC is already in vogue for a period of one month till 10th of October 2013, by virtue of which the assembly of five or more persons is not allowed
