Train service in Kashmir suspended on Friday
SRINAGAR;13, Sep 2013: Railway services in Kashmir came to halt in view of protest call from separatists to hold peaceful demonstration after Friday prayers in Valley.
According to reports reaching GNS, Railway services from Baramulla to Banihal were suspended during afternoon on Friday due to prevailing situation in the Valley.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Railways, Bashir Ahmed Yatoo told GNS that train services in valley was suspended due to security reasons. “There were apprehensions that protests will take place after Friday prayers.”
“Train was functioning smoothly in the morning hours but was stopped in the afternoon,” Yatoo said. (GNS)
