SHOPIAN KILLINGS: Hurriyat Groups Rejected Judicial Probe
SRINAGAR; 02, Oct 2013: Both the groups of Hurriyat Conference Wednesday rejected the Judicial probe called by Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah yesterday.
Geelani's group termed the probe as an attempt of creating confusion. The statement reads, " It is just a mockery and nothing substantial is expected from these probes. These investigations are never result oriented and neither the culprits are identified nor brought to justice." Adding, "All the four youth killed outside Gagran camp in the district on September 7 by Central Reserve Police Force were innocent."
Similalry Mirwaiz heading group also rejected the probe and termed it as a mere eyewash. Referring to the past killings including Gool, Markundal the spokesperson said, "Administration always announces investigations into the innocent killings just to douse the public anger and protect the guilty involved in the cold blooded murder of the civilians." Adding "Not a single inquiry had so far bore a result and held the guilty responsible for the deaths of innocents."
