Jama’at claims ownership of Geelani’s Residence, Office
SRINAGAR; Throwing spanner in Geelani’s efforts to emerge a model politician, Jama’at-e-Islami J&K on Monday stated the property that Syed Ali Geelani transferred to a trust belongs to Jama’at. The property, however, shall continue in his use till he is alive.A statement issued by Jama’at-e-Islamon Monday said,
“ the property under the use of Syed Ali Geelani at Hyderpora is basically the property of Jama’at-e-Islami,” adding “Jama’at Chief will head a delegation to Geelani to know the facts and details about the news of transferring the same property to some trust.
”The statement said that Jama’at-e-Islami, however, extended the decisionthat till Geelani is alive the propertywill remain under his use. Pertinently, Geelani had announced acouple of days earlier to transfer his property including his Hyderpora residence and his party head office toan eight member trust.
