SRINAGAR; Panic gripped in Tengapora Bypass area of Srinagar after a Road Opening Party allegedly fired some gunshot in air to prevent a Maruti car getting escaped from the area.
 
Locals told a local news gathering agency that a road opening party from 35 RR made tried to stop a Maruti car near Classic Hospital Tengapora Bypass in Srinagar on Saturday afternoon. However, the car did not stop despite repeatedly warned by Army personnel.
   
Eyewitnesses said that Army personnel fired some gun shots in air to stop the car but failed in their attempt.
 
A Defense spokesperson told that it was not clear what actually happened there. “We are confirming the report who actually fired the gun shots,” he said.
 
Reports said that soon after the incident, Army personnel cordoned off the area and checked the identity cards of the people. A police official said that they are trying to ascertain the facts. (CNS)
