AWJA condemns attack on GK lensman
ANANTNAG: Anantnag Working Journalist Association (AWJA) has condemned the brutal
attack on Greater Kashmir lensman, Sajad Muniwardi yesterday by some
policemen in Pinjora Shopian when he was performing his professional
duty during a gunfight between security forces and militants in the
area.
In a statement issued to CNS, the Association said that a group of policemen caught the Photo Journalist and thrashed him brutally as a result he sustained serious injuries.
“Unbridled policemen also damaged cameras of said photo Journalist who is sole bread and butter earner for his family,” the statement reads.
Association while condemning this brutal action of police has demanded a through probe into the incident and has appealed international organizations protecting media men to take serious note of the incident as the ‘atrocities on journalists in Kashmir are rising day by day.’ (CNS)
