Illegal Distribution of Solar Cookers in Kishtwar; PDP Demands Inquiry
JAMMU; Charging ruling National Conference with mis-using official machinery for petty political gains, senior leader of thePeoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sayeed Asgar Ali, MLC today solar cookers meant for weaker sections were distributed among National Conference workers without adopting any criteria.
According to a statement issued to a local news gathering agency KNS, while addressing a press conference here this afternoon, Sayeed Asgar Ali has expressed his deep concern over the unauthorized and illegal distribution of six thousand solar cookers by the workers and some office bearers of National Conference at Kishtwar. He said that these solar cookers were allotted by Ministry of New and Renewal Energy, Government of India for distribution amongst the deserving beneficiaries of Kishtwar district.
But the NC leaders, who are habitual of breaking rules and norms, have brazenly manipulated in connivance with the official of JAKEDA (Science and Technology)officers/officials to handover these solar cookers to the party workers and office bearers of the party.
"The matter was brought to the notice of then Deputy Commissioner Bashir Khan, who immediately took effective steps for avoiding any mis-use of these solar cookers. Even applications were invited from the interested persons and more than six thousand applications were received the department", he said and disclosed that these informations were given by the government in reply to my C Q in which government replied that the department has received more than six thousand applications and the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar with finalize the list and after that distribution will take place.
"But throwing all norms and rules to the winds the habitual law breakers managed to distribute these solar cookers among the party workers of National Conference the very other day when the government had assured the Upper House that a definite procedure will be adopted for the distribution.
He said that people of Kishtwar have been used to such type of "Nadir Shahi" orders and "Farmans", whether it was in the form of thrashing of district officer or in the irresponsible manner of supervising the communal clashes of August 9, 2013 and now the day light robber of legal rights of the thousands of deserving people of the district who have applied for solar cookers.
"We demand an inquiry into the whole incident and a strict penal action against the officers and officials with whose connivance this has happened", he said. (KNS)
